OVERVIEW
One of the oldest and largest financial institutions in the UAE needed a comprehensive training curriculum to educate its entire workforce of over 12,000 professionals on Information Security, Cyber Security, and Banking Security standards. The original plan for a series of instructor-led sessions had to be completely re-imagined due to a sudden shift to a remote-first work environment.

Challenges
The client was faced with the monumental task of delivering business-critical security training to a massive, diverse workforce during a period of unprecedented operational disruption. Success required overcoming significant logistical and instructional design hurdles.
- Pivoting a Large-Scale Program: The client had to rapidly pivot their entire training strategy for 12,000 employees from in-person to digital without losing momentum or impact.
- Content Procurement & Curation: The program required streamlining and validating complex content from numerous internal subject matter experts across various security domains.
- Diverse Learning Needs: A one-size-fits-all digital course would not be effective for an audience with vastly different roles, from entry-level bank tellers to executive management.
The OBLIQ Solution
OBLIQ provided the strategic guidance and execution capability to rapidly transform their training program for a digital-first world, ensuring broad reach and high impact while maximizing their existing technology investment.
- Strategic Digital Transformation: We guided the client in pivoting from a classroom-based model to a fully digital curriculum, leveraging interactive eLearning modules and virtual classrooms to achieve scale and efficiency.
- LMS Implementation & Integration: We worked with the client to deploy the new digital learning components onto their existing Cornerstone OnDemand LMS, ensuring seamless delivery and enterprise-wide tracking.
- Segmented Learning Paths: We designed three distinct, tiered training paths tailored for different employee levels (entry-level, middle management, and executive), ensuring the content was relevant and engaging for each audience.
- SME Collaboration & Content Curation: We engaged top industry cybersecurity experts to co-create and validate the training content, ensuring it was accurate, up-to-date, and highly applicable.
Our Approach
Our primary role was to act as a strategic partner, providing both the vision and the execution capability to navigate a high-stakes, rapid transformation. We focused on mitigating risk while maximizing the reach and impact of the training.
Rapid Strategy Pivot
We immediately convened a task force with the client’s L&D and security teams to architect a new, fully digital delivery model, creating a clear project plan in a matter of days.
Centralized Content Management
To handle the complex content from various SMEs, we established a centralized review and development process. This ensured all information was consistent, accurate, and translated effectively into engaging learning content.
Designing for a Diverse Audience
Our instructional designers created a modular curriculum. While core concepts were universal, specific scenarios, examples, and assessments were tailored to the three distinct learning paths, making the training relevant to each employee’s daily role.
Leveraging Existing Technology
A key challenge was maximizing the client’s investment in their Cornerstone OnDemand LMS. We became experts in their specific configuration, designing the learning modules to integrate perfectly and take full advantage of the platform’s tracking and reporting capabilities.
The Results
The digital transformation of the cybersecurity curriculum was a resounding success, enabling the client to exceed their original training goals with greater efficiency and impact. The project demonstrated the power of strategic digital learning to drive enterprise-wide change.
- 92.7% Completion Rate Across 12,000+ Employees: The digital program successfully surpassed the reach and consistency of the originally planned in-person sessions.
- 60% Improvement in Knowledge: Post-training assessments demonstrated a significant increase in employees' understanding and application of critical security practices.
- 37% Reduction in Costs: Shifting to a digital platform eliminated significant logistical, travel, and infrastructural costs associated with the planned classroom training.
